One

This has easily been the fastest year of my life. Why? Because I am happier than I have ever been.
Funny how that works, isn't it? There is a Yin to every Yang. Time flies when you're having fun, it's true.
As my sweet husband pointed out this past weekend, it is both good and bad.
Sometimes we wish so hard that we could have met when we were younger. The "if's" are always fun
to think about. But we know, that if we hadn't followed the paths that fate intended, chances are we never
would have met, and the times we have together now wouldn't be happening.

I wouldn't change the now for anything in the world.

We spent our first anniversary running around Cincinnati. I had been wanting to make a trip back to Ikea
for awhile now (okay ever since the last time we were there) so we decided, with the fact that Madison is
still in school, we wouldn't take a trip too far away, and maybe plan another trip this summer.
Besides, we like Cincinnati. It has character.

We spent the evening in Mt. Adams, a little town at the top of the city. Once home of a huge vineyard, Mt. Adams is eclectic, classy and very entertaining. Being one of the highest points in the city, we walked to find a lookout for some amazing views of the areas around the river. It was a humid, overcast day so my shots aren't that great, but you get the idea.

We had a delicious dinner at Teak Thai restaurant and later headed to a cool watering hole with so much character and neat stuff to see, that I had to sit outside, and then inside. Outside there was a bonfire with people sitting close on wrought iron loveseats and chairs, sipping hot chocolate, cider and coffee.

Inside there was a man strumming a guitar and taking requests. We sat nearby and as the wine warmed and loosened my thoughts, I requested a few that based on what he had been playing, I knew he would rock out. And rock out the Neil Young, James Taylor, Neil Diamond, Seals and Crofts and Bruce Hornsby he did!

We strolled around a bit more and ended up hearing a band and D.J. at another venue, before hopping a taxi ride to our hotel downtown.

It was a great anniversary weekend trip, and not to mention a welcome to Spring.
